112. The next level

I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you know him, and have seen him.”

Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also. Where I go, you know, and you know the way.”

“If you love me, keep my commandments. I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counsellor, that he may be with you forever,–the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive; for it doesn’t see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you will see me. Because I live, you will live also. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. One who has my commandments, and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.”

The through me to the father will be clear to most of you as pointing to the heart, but why is it the only way to the father? Because the mind is not pure! It is conditional, so why all these articles? To weaken the stronghold mind has on you. Mind uses the heart instead of the heart using the mind. Mankind speaks of knowing love but knows it not.

When you read the articles you judge it with mind with all its ideas of good and evil, you trust your mind, your ideas, the way it translates the words it reads and things it sees and hears. See it like this, a pure heart is one with the father therefore able to recognize of itself, but mind is like a black curtain blocking out the light, so when mind/ego looks into the world it recognizes of itself and uses the heart to drive you to fulfil its desires and longings, love therefore becomes conditional.

Similar to like attracts alike, you recognize of your own, and g-d will recognize of His. I was talking to someone who said he is doing research seeking the secret(in the hope this would lead to a breakthrough so it will bring him to enlightenment or at least closer to g-d) but he told me that those libraries are closed, the truth hidden behind big doors and safes, but is it really hidden? Kept from ordinary people by “those in power”?  The conspiracy theories often include them having a key or keys to this all important secret. To have it is one thing, many of you have a Bible, Koran or the Veda’s, but to be it is another thing.

Here too the mind will take hold of it and translate it for its own use.

The truth is not hidden at all !!!!!!! But it cannot be seen by the mind’s eye, let alone be in the hands of those in power. There is no other way than when you have it then you must be it, otherwise you would not be able to know it. A key is not the treasure, it is not even the door.

If you have a key then you still need to know the right door and you still need to open it, yes you need to open it.

a little story to read.

Once there was this very wealthy young man. He lived in a
great, elaborate house with dozens of rooms. Each room
was more comfortable and more beautiful than the one before
it. There were paintings and sculptures. Crystal chandeliers,
golden, ornate railings on the stairs. More beauty than most
have ever seen.

One day he decided to invite the Lord to come home and
stay with him. When the Lord arrived, this young man offered
him the very best room in the house. The room was upstairs
and at the end of the hall.

“This room is yours, Jesus! Stay
as long as you like and you can do whatever you want to in
this room, remember Jesus, it’s all yours.”

That evening after he had retired for the night there came a loud knocking
at the front door. The young man pulled on his robe and made his way downstairs.
When he opened the door he found that the devil had sent three
of his demons to attack the man. He quickly tried to close the door
but one of the demons kept sticking his foot in. Sometime
later, after a great struggle, he managed to slam the door
shut and returned to his room totally exhausted.

“Can you believe that”, the man thought. “Jesus is upstairs
in my very best room sleeping while I am down here battling
demons. Oh, well, maybe he just didn’t hear”. He slept fitfully
that night.

The next day things went along as normal and, being tired as
he was, the young man retired early that evening. Along
about midnight, there came such a terrible ruckus at the
front door that the young man was sure that whatever it was
would tear the door down. He stumbled down the stairs once
again and opened the door to find that were dozens of
demons now trying to get into his beautiful home.

For more than three hours he fought and struggled against
the demons from hell and finally overtook them enough to
shut the door against their attack. All energy seemed to fail
him. He really didn’t understand this at all. “Why won’t the
Lord come to my rescue? Why does he allow me to fight
all by myself? I feel so alone”. Troubled, he found his way
to the sofa and fell into a restless sleep.

The next morning he decided to inquire of the Lord about the
happenings of the last two evenings. Quietly he made his
way to the elegant bedroom where he had left Jesus.
“Jesus,” he called as he tapped at the door. “Lord, I don’t
understand what is happening. For the last two nights I
have had to fight the demons away from my door while
you laid up here sleeping. Don’t you care about me? Did I
not give you the very best room in the house?”

He could see the tears building in Jesus’ eyes but continued
on, “I just don’t understand, I really thought that once I
invited you in to live with me that you would take care of me
and I gave you the best room in my house and everything.
What more can I do?”

Jesus smiled and told him that He had already forgiven
him and that He would take care of things from now on.
That night as the young man prepared for bed he thought,

“I wonder if those demons will return, I am so tired of
fighting them each and every night.”

But he knew that Jesus said that he would take care of things from now on.

Along about midnight the banging on the door was
frightening. The young man slipped out of his room in
time to see Jesus going down the stairs. He watched in
awe as Jesus swung open the door, no need to be afraid.

Satan stood at the door this time demanding to be let in.
“What do you want, Satan?” the Lord asked. The devil
bowed low in the presence of the Lord, “So sorry, I seem
to have gotten the wrong address.” And with that, he and
the demons all ran away.

There is a moral to this tale. Jesus wants all of you, not
just a part. He will take all that you give Him but nothing
more. How much of your heart have you given to the Lord?
Are you keeping a portion of it away from Him?

Perhaps the attacks are coming more and more each day.
Why not let the Lord fight the battles for you? He is always
victorious. I have found that God made man simple, all of
man’s complexities are of his own devising.

If you have been a regular visitor to Truth & Revelations and have been reading the articles then this article is important to read, but if you are a first time visitor this is important to you too to read. It will surely make some of you turn away and run while others will grow to the next level.

There are many seekers which do not take full responsibility for their own liberation but wait for a new article or discovery and eventually have this final spiritual experience which will hit them into enlightenment.

This great big search to this final liberating experience which gives rise to this big commercialization of spiritualism and consumerism in which seekers go shopping from one teacher, book or course to the next, shopping for enlightenment as if going to your favourite store.

This commercialization is leading the search for enlightenment into a fashion trend, I have done reiki, shamballa, got the book and seen the movie and is turning into a cult of seekers, and while many people did indeed have had a powerful experience, in most of the cases they did not lead to a profound transformation of the individual.

It often is an escape from or hide out from a fear of not knowing why they had not succeeded in life in the eyes of others and eventually their own eyes. They go and seek teachers and become addicted to the charisma of a teacher, and swap stories about how much more powerful this or that teacher is and compare experiences, then sort of charge themselves with it. But do not mistake charisma for enlightenment, charisma attracts from all levels, be it sexual, spiritual, political or otherwise, all it often does is feeding the ego’s desire to feel special. Yes it loves getting a surge of power, much like a spiritual ice cream. Ice cream may be sweet but does it make you free or can you live on it? And I don’t mean if you wish you could!

You need to understand that freedom is not necessarily exciting, it is just free, very quiet and very peaceful, of course it is also filled with tremendous joy and wonder, but it is not what you imagine it to be, it is much less, many do not realize the intoxicating power the ego has on you, and many do not realize the intoxicating power of charisma as well and mistake it for enlightenment. Please look at those artist such as singers or actors, they follow a certain religious streaming and this then grows in followers because this or that movie star joined it.

But let me tell you in order to be truly free, you must desire to know the truth more than you want to feel good, because if feeling good is your goal, then as soon as you feel better you will lose interest in what is true.

This does not mean that feeling good or experience love is a bad thing, given the choice who would not rather feel bliss than sorrow?

It simply means that if this desire to feel good is stronger than the yearning to know, see and experience truth, then this desire will always distort the perception of what is real, and corrupt one’s deepest integrity.

Ask anyone and they will all say that they wish to know the truth.

And some will go along all the way to the point where they realize that the real truth will rob them of their deepest held believes, ideas, hopes and dreams, the freedom enlightenment brings is so much more than the experience of love and peace alone. When you discover a truth it will turn your view of self and life upside down for those who are truly ready, this will be unimaginably liberating. But for the one who is still clinging in any way, this time will be extremely challenging.

But how does one know if they are ready? You are ready when you are willing to be absolutely consumed.

If you are tempted to play the role of being an enlightened person, then be sure the true teacher will call you on it. And he is going to expose you, and that will hurt, because the ego will be there, standing in the light of truth, exposed and humiliated, and yes of course the ego will cry Foul! It will claim that this teacher was wrong, made a mistake and begin to put on his mask again, it will too bring justifications with incredible subtlety and deceptiveness, this is where the real spiritual practice begins. This is where it all becomes very real and the seeker discovers. This is where the real spiritual practice begins.

This is where it all becomes very real and where you discover whether you truly want to be free, or merely want to remain a false separated self-justifying ego. This crossroad inevitably crosses your path one day and will always be challenging. It separates the true seeker from the false one, the true seeker will be willing to bare the grace of humility while the other runs from it. Discovering your nobody-ness opens the door to awakening and being-ness and eventually to the source. But do not think that enlightenment will make you special, if you feel special then enlightenment is not reached for sure. Nowadays there are those who consider themselves enlightened simply because they had a moving spiritual experience, and they wear their enlightenment as a medal of honour on their chest, and they sit with their friends and talk about how awake they are and talk about conspiracies as if there is no plan behind everything beyond the worldly one. While the truth is, there is no one to claim it when it is real. It does not make you more special but makes you less special, and places you in the centre of humility and innocence.

Ego is the movement of the mind toward objects of perception in the form of grasping, and away from objects in the form of aversion, that is basically all that ego is and gives rise to the sense of a separate me and in turn a sense of me that is strengthening itself this way. A continues loop of causation that tricks consciousness into a trance of identification, identification with what? With suffering, after all, who is suffering? The Me is suffering, and who is this Me? Nothing more than the sense of self caused by the identification with the grasping and aversion. Yes it is all a creation of the mind, the movie on the wall of Plato’s cave, a dream. Be aware. Do not try to change the dream because that just replaced it for another dream but become more interested in the awareness than in the dream itself. Enlightenment is the end of all division and not the occasional experience of unity, it is being undivided and what non duality means. It means that the inner revelation and the outer expression of personality are one and the same. Only very few are interested in the implication contained within the profound spiritual experiences, because it is the contemplation of these implications which quickly brings to awareness the inner divisions existing within many seekers. You will find that many so called spiritual people are violent people. Mostly, they are violent to themselves, they violently try to control their minds, body’s and their emotions, they become upset with themselves because they do not reach the conditional idea of the mind which enlightenment is supposed to be. Why is it that so very few are truly free? Because they seek to conform to their ideas, concepts and believes in their heads, they try to concentrate their way into heaven, but freedom is a natural state, the spontaneous and unselfconscious expression of being-ness. And if you wish to find it then do not follow the concepts created by the mind as they are based on the known.

How destructive those emotions are to the attainment of freedom must be realized. Let’s look at doubt for instance, doubt always knows, it knows that nothing is possible and so robs you of the possibility of anything truly new or transformative from happening. Doubt has created a self-image much like any of the emotions such as fear. It reflects and responds on the basis of the self-image it has created through experience. Doubt is always accompanied by cynicism that unconsciously puts a negative spin to whatever it touches. Cynicism is a worldview which protects the ego from scrutiny by maintaining a negative stance in relationship to what it does not know, does not want to know, or cannot know. Many spiritual seekers have no idea how cynical and doubt laden they really are. It is the blindness and denial of the presence of doubt and cynicism that makes the birth of a profound trust impossible, a trust without which final liberation will always remain a dream. Fear comes from thought in the shape of memory, past or projected future. It is thought that creates time, past present and future. Fear exists and comes from the perceived existence of time(ultimately from not knowing), so to be free of fear is to be free of time.

Since it is a creation of thought, then to be free of fear you must be free of thought, and therefore it is important to awaken and experience yourself outside of thought, existing as eternity. Therefore you should question all notions of yourself that are creations of thought and of time, be it past, present or future. Experience your eternalness and awaken-ness until you are strong enough never to be subject to the movement of thought, of fear or of time, and don’t get stuck in emptiness either. Don’t cling to bliss or peace or indifference as many who’s self-centred motivation disappears become indifferent, they see the perfection of all existence and find no reason for doing anything, including caring for themselves or others, this is called taking false refuge, this is a very subtle egocentric trap, it is a fixation in the absolute and an unconscious form of attachment that masquerades as liberation, and it can be very difficult to wake someone up from this deceptive fixation because they literally have no motivation to let go of it. Such people believe they have reached the top of the mountain. Enlightenment does not mean you should disappear into the realm of transcendence. To be fixated in the absolute is simply the polar opposite of being fixated in the relative. With the drawing of true enlightenment, there is a tremendous birthing of impersonal love and wisdom that never fixates in any realm of experience. To awaken to the absolute view is profound and transformative, but to awaken from all fixed points of view is the birth of true non-duality.

I cannot teach you anything, the best I can do is create the situation for you to learn to see that honesty and integrity which cannot be given is the only thing that will bring you to the other shore. No one can give you the strength of character necessary for the profound spiritual experience to become the catalyst for the evolutionary transformation called enlightenment. Only you can find that passion within that burns with an integrity that will not settle for anything less than the truth.

Enlightenment has nothing to do with states of consciousness, whether you are in ego consciousness or unity consciousness is not really the point, you might have met or heard about people who are able to reach different states of consciousness, some might reach this very easily but you will also notice they are often no freer than anyone else. Ego can exist in very advanced states of consciousness, but the point is not the state of consciousness, not even advanced ones, but to awaken in the mystery that is the source of all states of consciousness. The source of presence and being-ness. It is beyond all perception and all experience.

Find the self by stepping back out of yourself.

Remember it is one thing to realize the self but it is something else altogether to embody that realization. Many have had a glimpse of oneness, very few consistently express that realization through their humanness. It is one thing to touch a flame and know it is hot, but quite another to jump into that flame and be consumed by it. And only then can you truly give of value to the world.

The articles’ only purpose is to strengthen you so you will be able to fight the war of wars which lies ahead and the only one who can fight it, IS YOU!

And you are the only one that can.
